{"id":143,"date":"2024-01-25T01:32:05","date_gmt":"2024-01-25T01:32:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utr.tv\/en\/?page_id=143"},"modified":"2024-01-25T01:32:13","modified_gmt":"2024-01-25T01:32:13","slug":"statement-of-ukraines-foreign-ministry-on-russias-violation-of-nadiya-savchenkos-rights","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/utr.tv\/en\/news\/hot-news\/item\/15618-statement-of-ukraine-s-foreign-ministry-on-russia-s-violation-of-nadiya-savchenko-s-rights.html","title":{"rendered":"STATEMENT OF UKRAINE\u2024S FOREIGN MINISTRY ON RUSSIA\u2024S VIOLATION OF NADIYA SAVCHENKO\u2024S RIGHTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"itemIntroText\">\n<p>The\u00a0Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine\u00a0expresses its resolute protest over the decision of the Basmanny District Court\u00a0of Moscow,\u00a0the\u00a0Russian Federation, of February 10, to extend the detention for Ukraine\u2024s Member of Parliament,\u00a0Member\u00a0of Ukraine\u2024s PACE\u00a0Delegation Nadiya Savchenko.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>The Court has taken into account\u00a0neither\u00a0evidence compiled by the defense, proving noninvolvement of\u00a0the\u00a0Ukraine\u2024s citizen\u00a0in\u00a0incriminated deeds,\u00a0nor\u00a0the\u00a0petition to change\u00a0preventive measure for N.Savchenko submitted along with guarantees of Ukraine\u2024s Embassy in Russia and Ukraine\u2024s Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights,\u00a0nor\u00a0a considerable deterioration of health of N.Savchenko.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the Russian\u00a0authorities have\u00a0ignored PACE call\u00a0to immediately free N.Savchenko as a person enjoying diplomatic immunity of PACE\u00a0Member,\u00a0thus, violating its obligations as\u00a0a Council of Europe\u00a0member and a\u00a0party\u00a0to a number of international conventions.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard,\u00a0the\u00a0Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine\u00a0emphasizes that Russia bears the entire responsibility for the life and health of Nadiya Savchenko who has been on\u00a0a\u00a0hunger strike for 60 days\u00a0already\u00a0to protest against her illegal\u00a0taking out to Russia\u2024s territory\u00a0and detention.<\/p>\n<p>We demand that the Russian Federation immediately free Nadiya Savchenko and all otherRussia-held\u00a0political\u00a0prisoners\u00a0\u2024 citizens of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>We call upon\u00a0the\u00a0international community to strengthen political and diplomatic pressure upon the Russian Federation to free all Ukrainian citizens\u00a0who continue to be\u00a0illegally detained in\u00a0the territory of\u00a0Russia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine\u00a0expresses its resolute protest over the decision of the Basmanny District Court\u00a0of Moscow,\u00a0the\u00a0Russian Federation, of February 10, to extend the detention for Ukraine\u2024s Member of Parliament,\u00a0Member\u00a0of Ukraine\u2024s PACE\u00a0Delegation Nadiya Savchenko.
